20 trips to take in your 20s

Travelling is a bug and there’s nothing more delicious than catching a disease that isn’t harmful.

This travel list, in no particular order, is meant to inspire anyone in their 20s to get out there and start travelling this year.. or next, or the year after; the operative word being START!
Take a look and widen your horizons. The world is waiting!
1. Lantern festival, Taiwan

There are few things more soothing at wonderful than lighting up a sky lantern, waiting for it to fill with hot air and letting it float off. With every passing second, you can feel the lantern fill itself up with something invisibile but so true and heartfelt – you can think of it as just air, some think of it as wishes, some think of it as hope for the future. Take your pick.

2. Great Wall of China

shutterstock_39225817This is one of those places that’s on everyone’s to see and do list- whether you’re 20 or 80. Irrespective of age, this is something that one must see at least once in this lifetime! So get your pen out and jot it down in your bucketlist.
3. Santorini, Greece

It’s one of the most photographed seaside towns in the history of photography, but there’s a reason for it. Regardless of how many times you’ve see this photo or something like it, you can’t help but imagine all the lives that take place inside these adorable houses or being right there, on the island, living right by this picturesque seaside beauty.

4. The wave, Arizona, USA

This sandstone formation is as beautiful in real life as it is in the photos and it’s definitely worth the melting Arizona heat. Google ranks it as one of the most beautiful natural formations in the world and not without reason.

5. Tiger’s Nest monastery, Bhutan

Cuba is waiting silently for the world to discover it’s beauty – a stark contrast between European architecture and vintage American cars, the country is quickly gaining popularity amongst young travelers for its affordability, flexibility and sexiness!

Lapland is known for it’s Northern Lights- although it’s a natural phenomenon, it feels like a choreographed disco in the sky. And if gazing at the stars and night lights is not your cup of tea, you might find yourself sitting in complete darkness- an experience you wont get anywhere else!

10. Pantagonia, Chile/ Argetina

What’s not to like about a beautiful landscape on the border of two beautiful countries, Chile and Argentina? We recommend wandering around the plains and mountains until you’ve had your fill of the fresh air, beautiful landscapes and climbed a few mountaints to stretch those city-worn legs.

11. Bodo, Norway

Scandinavian countries are viewed as a distant dream to 2-somethings, but trust us, it’s a lot more fulfilling than the usual booze cruise or Eurotrip, although we have nothing but good feelings for both! Norway, Sweden, Denmark are all countries worth putting in your list of places to see because of their culturally rich, divergent and sometimes quaint towns.

The Carnival in Brazil is something we recommend everyone to see at least once. And if you’re the daring kind, throw off your shoes and shirt and join the party! Brazilians are known as some of the friendliest, livelivest people and will always welcome a dance buddy.

13. Drake Passage, Antarctica

This is one of the few places on the planet that still doesn’t have a MCDonald’s so you better hurry and get to it before things change. The penguins, the ice caps, the blue waters are such captivating sights that we doubt you’d ever want to come back from this gorgeous place.

14. The Inca Trail, Peru

Wander through the ruins and sites of the most ancient civilization known to humankind. The Inca Trail in Peru is perfect for those who love a good walk or hike through a fresh jungle.
